Anand Khanse – The mind behind The Windows Club

Anand got into the world of blogging accidentally – when he needed to fix his own computer. Once he was able to fix it successfully, he was hooked to Windows! He started with WinVistaClub.com but soon migrated his content to TheWindowsClub.com once Windows 7 was launched. Says Anand, “Windows is a passion to me and blogging a way of life. I never blogged to make money – I blogged to help people  – knowing very well that reputation and money would follow.” Anand has been a recipient of the MVP Award given by Microsoft since 2006. He loves writing troubleshooting tips, and one of his solutions was also converted into and labeled as the First MVP Fix It.

Some stats of TheWindowsClub

1] It has been a long journey, and while the traffic was steady in the first several years, it has grown with time. In that sense, we have been like the proverbial hare! The bulk of our web traffic is from search engines.

2] When it comes to popularity, our Global Alexa Rank is 3310 which is pretty good. Loosely speaking – it means that we are the 3300th most visited website among the billion odd websites on the web.

The site has MOZ Domain Authority of 85 currently. 3] The returning visitor to our website is 16.2% which is not bad for a website of this size. It points to the fact that some readers do follow us regularly, and come back for more.

4] It no surprise that most of the traffic comes from Organic Search but with 8% direct traffic, it confirms the above stats as well. 5] While almost every age group reads us, our top range is between 25-34, followed by 35-44 and then 16-24.  It means right from those who start with computers to IT professionals follow us.

6] Coming to demographics, we have 20% female users, and 80% male users. We have seen the female percentage increase every year and with more and more of them getting into IT – and this makes sense.

7] The OS breakdown is no brainer, and Windows tops it with 72%, followed by Android at 15.55% and then iOS with 7%. Microsoft has been working hard to make sure their services and apps are available on Android and iOS, and we guess we have traction for them as well.

8] Google Chrome is the leading browser for us, followed by Firefox and Safari. It’s somewhat surprising for us that Chrome leads the pack even though it is one power hungry and battery draining browser. It looks like Google is doing something right about it. While Edge is at fourth, let’s see how well the Chromium version of Edge does for us shortly.

9] The United States tops the country list at almost 33% followed by India at 9%. While we lead in India, there is a vast difference between the percentage. India is a mobile-first country, and I guess this is why there is so much of difference.
